I cannot afford my thoughts the freedom to run unbridled within my mind. No matter how noble or notorious, calm or chaotic, pure or polluted—they will inevitably try to stand on their own. And anything that attempts to stand on its own stands against the Creator of the cosmos. For within the cosmos is the cross, hidden plainly. Its finished verdict is raw and full of forgiveness. And while the proud attempt to stand, the Son towers. His jealousy cushions the meek as they lower themselves close to the earth. His judgement burns off the feet of the self absorbed as they stretch upward. Again, I cannot afford my thoughts the strength to stretch in any capacity of their own. Should I strip my mind or negate its faculty? Of course not! But it must be captured. Not contained, but captured. A wild horse contained is no less wild. It answers only to the nature within it self. Its containment is a mere mirage of control. No, the mind needs captured. It needs broken in the sense that what was once considered folly is now the only path to salvation. It needs broken in the sense that fantasy is unveiled to be in fact, fear, not freedom. And we have all been enthralled by fear. Thus, capture the mind to break it into something new. The wild horse will run farther once yoked with its master. And we must not shy away from the master our minds desperately need: Christ. And Christ captured the mind at Golgotha.
I have said all of this, but am only repeating what has already been said:
“We can demolish every deceptive fantasy that opposes God and break through every arrogant attitude that is raised up in defiance of the true knowledge of God. We capture, like prisoners of war, every thought and insist that it bow in obedience to the Anointed One.”
